Permax Recruitment is proud to be supporting a fast-growing and forward-thinking Chartered Accountancy and outsourcing group in their search for a Head of Practice Management. With over 30 years of establishment and ambitious growth plans to quadruple in size over the next five years, this dynamic firm is seeking a like-minded professional to join them on their journey. Their UK presence includes more than 50 professionals delivering services across audit, tax compliance and advisory, bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, company secretarial, and wealth management. The firm prides itself on leveraging technology, providing director-led client service, and going beyond compliance to deliver proactive advisory support. Practice Manager This is a high-impact position suited to an experienced practice manager or senior executive within a professional services environment. You'll be a strategic partner to the leadership team, driving operational excellence and overseeing essential aspects of the firms internal management, from compliance to performance monitoring and HR. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with directors and accounting teams to manage compliance processes such as engagement letters, KYC, AML, and new client setup. Maintain and update internal documentation, including the customer charter and employee handbook. Provide proactive advice on practice management requirements beyond routine operations. Ensure timekeeping and billing systems are consistently maintained. Oversee the tracking and recovery of chargeable time across teams. Manage and optimise IRIS practice management software. Lead credit control processes and liaise with clients regarding billing issues. Oversee cashflow management, including debtors, creditors, and banking operations. Deliver weekly and monthly performance reports to the executive team. Implement and oversee HR strategies in line with overall business objectives, working alongside the firms external HR provider. Develop induction and training materials for new team members. Handle employee relations, grievances, and performance management. Lead the practice management team and ensure alignment with business goals. What Were Looking For Significant experience in a practice management or executive role within a professional services firm. Strong leadership and people management skills. Proficiency in HR processes and employment matters. Familiarity with practice management systems and reporting tools. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities. A 2:1 or better University Degree Competent in using Microsoft Office and practice management software (e.g. IRIS).
