We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist/Administrator to join our team.
Gamston Medical Centre is located in Gamston near West Bridgford (NG2 6PS) and currently serves approximately 6,900 patients. We are in a purpose built premises and located close to local amenities. We are looking to recruit a confident and dynamic person to greet patients and answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner, direct calls, take messages, and provide a first class service to patients of the Practice. Main duties of the job
There are 2 vacancies:

Monday NON WORKING DAY 1.30-6.30
Tuesday 1.30-6.30 NON WORKING DAY
Thursday 1.00-6.00 1.30-6.30
Friday 8.00-14.30 1.30-6.30
Total 21.5 hours 20.5 hours
The successful applicants will need to have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality, flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation, be IT literate and have a desire to grow and succeed within the organisational structure.
A background in a related administrative role would be useful but is not essential but a desire to learn is a must. Training will be provided to the right candidate and previous applicants need not apply.

Receptionist - Job Description
Job Title: Reception/Admin
Job Purpose: To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team
Duties and Responsibilities
Telephone Duties
 * Making appointments
 * Taking requests for prescriptions from housebound patients
 * Giving out results
 * Ambulance transport bookings for on the day service
 * Home visit requests
 * Deal with general enquiries and complaints
 * Contacting other providers
Reception Duties
 * Register new patients and temporary residents, when required
 * Greet and direct patients and visitors
 * Making appointments
 * Handing out prescriptions
 * Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary
 * Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
 * Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
 * Deal with general enquiries and complaints
Filing
 * Filing and retrieving paperwork as requested (eg. Lloyd George envelopes)
Prescriptions
 * Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions
 * Raising prescriptions as per Practice protocols
 * Dealing with queries relating to prescriptions
General
 * Input and extract information from Practice computer system
 * Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
 * General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)
 * Any other reasonable duties as necessary
 * Observe Confidentiality policy and guidelines at all times
 * Opening up / locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
 * Have an overview of admin tasks (eg. cytology admin, recalls)
