What's involved with this role: Interim Mental Health Social Worker - Level 3 Reference no: Calderdale 0008 D4CB / 1 Pay Rate: £20.31 per hour PAYE 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 6 months City: HALIFAX Enhanced DBS disclosure required Hybrid working Candidates will need to have ready access to a vehicle to support visits both in and around The purpose of the role is to provide a professional social work service and achieve good outcomes for service users, their families and carers. Must be proficient in assessment of needs under the Care Act 2014, formulating strengths based support plans, undertaking safeguarding investigating officer role within s42 work, undertaking reviews of commissioned packages of care, CHC funding, consideration and completion of robust MCA and BID. Key Responsibilities: Manage with supervision and advise a caseload which may involve all client groups. Work jointly with other agencies and organisations as appropriate, co-working if necessary. Initiating the provision of appropriate services and resources. Undertaking some escort and contact duties. Organising, and/or assisting with group work as appropriate and agreed by Team Manager. Adhere to agreed recording systems, policies and procedures. May be required to initiate the involvement of volunteers in appropriate situations and to keep oversight of their work. Qualifications: Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England. Qualification 1 Award in Social Work such as PQ 1, PQ. Child Care Award and Practice Teaching Award. Knowledge: Knowledge of Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation. A sound knowledge of the welfare and development of children and young people. An understanding of Department of Health objectives and desired outcomes for children and young people. Experience: 2 years post qualification experience in a field or residential social work setting. Extensive and recent experience of statutory community adult social work is integral. Mental health experience is preferable but not a pre-requisite as long as there is demonstrable experience of having worked in an MDT or inter-agency setting effectively. Skills & Abilities: Good IT skills. Ability to work with colleagues in a team. Ability to organise and plan work and cope with pressure. An ability to evidence assessment skills.
