Behaviour Mentor – SEMH School – Chorley – Immediate Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education? Do you have the resilience, confidence, and sense of humour needed to make a lasting impact? We are recruiting for a full-time Behaviour Mentor to work in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in the Chorley area, starting as soon as possible.

The school caters to primary & secondary-aged pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support in a tailored learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help pupils regulate their emotions, stay engaged in lessons, and build positive relationships. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in youth work, support work, coaching, or any role where managing challenging behaviour is a key component.

The ideal candidate will:

Be confident, calm, and consistent in challenging situations.

Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or behavioural difficulties.

Be a strong communicator who can de-escalate situations and build trust.

Be able to work full-time, Monday to Friday, during term time.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

This is a long-term opportunity through Teaching Personnel, with the potential for a permanent role following a successful period of temporary placement. You will receive full support from our specialist consultants and access to relevant training to enhance your practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
