Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in managing large-scale ductwork/mechanical projects from inception to completion. This role will oversee the full project lifecycle, including design coordination, procurement of major plant and equipment, installation management, and stakeholder liaison. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and leadership skills to deliver high-value, complex projects safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery Lead end-to-end delivery of large ductwork (airside) projects, from pre-construction through commissioning. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocations. Ensure compliance with project specifications, technical drawings, and quality standards. Manage multiple subcontractors and suppliers to ensure performance, safety, and contractual compliance. Design & Technical Coordination Oversee and coordinate ductwork design in collaboration with internal engineers, external consultants, and clients. Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and calculations. Proactively resolve design clashes, technical queries, and constructability issues. Procurement & Plant Management Lead procurement activities for major plant and specialist equipment, including negotiation of supplier contracts. Ensure plant selection meets performance, efficiency, and regulatory requirements. Oversee delivery, installation, and commissioning of all major plant items. Commercial & Contract Management Work with the commercial team to monitor and control budgets, cost forecasts, and variations. Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients. Health, Safety & Compliance Champion a strong health and safety culture on site. Ensure all works are compliant with relevant legislation, standards, and environmental requirements. Skills & Experience Required Essential Proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale ductwork or HVAC projects. Strong knowledge of ductwork design, fabrication, and installation processes. Experience procuring and managing large plant/equipment packages. Familiarity with design review processes and technical standards. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience. Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD for review purposes). Desirable Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline. Experience working to BIM Level 2 standards. Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., DW/144, CIBSE guidelines). Personal Attributes Methodical and detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset.
