About you
Experience working in the construction industry – either working for a residential developer, main contractor, consultancy, housing association, or residential/mixed‑use developer.
Reporting to
Head of Commercial
Region / Geographical remit
South West region including Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire
Responsible for
1 to 2 new‑build housing developments within our Bristol and South West operating region, under the guidance and support of the Head of Commercial.
Working arrangements
Flexible working arrangements: 2 days working from home, 2 days working from the office and 1 day working from site; flexible start and finish times.
About the role
Due to continued growth and expansion across the Bristol and South West region and an increased pipeline of work, we are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to step up. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work as part of the Commercial team and be responsible for 1 to 2 new‑build housing developments, under the guidance and support of our Commercial Manager.
About you (qualifications)
* Existing Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to step up
* Experience in the construction industry – residential developer, main contractor, consultancy, housing association, or residential/mixed‑use developer
* Completed a degree or college education in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Purchasing, or a related field
* Effective organisational and time‑management skills
* Excellent negotiating skills
* Methodical, conscientious, and organised, delivering exacting standards
* Ability to generate professional correspondence independently
* Articulate, clear, and credible; able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
* Can work on own initiative
* Effective communication skills, building strong relationships internally and externally
* Self‑disciplined with demonstrably suitable time‑management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Ability to multi‑task, working efficiently and accurately
* Collaborative and supportive of colleagues
* Professional and pleasant manner in dealing with internal and external customers
