Description
We are excited to be recruiting for an Assessor in Health and Social Care to join our well-established team at Sandwell College. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to delivering high quality learning and assessment. We are looking to appoint two full time, hourly paid Assessors who are passionate about supporting learners to achieve their qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for assessing and supporting learners through their qualification process within the health and social care sector
* Work collaboratively with students to guide their learning and development
* Liaise with employer placements to support workplace-based assessment
* Work closely with colleagues to maintain consistency and quality
* Ensure high standards of learning, assessment and professional development are met
* Deliver a range of effective assessment techniques in the workplace leading to timely achievement
* Manage an agreed caseload of learners
* Maintain appropriate and accurate academic and administrative records
* Ensure effective communication with management, staff, students and employer partners
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Relevant professional qualification at a minimum of Level 3 in Health and Social Care
* Teaching qualification, minimum PTLLS or CTLLS or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this at the earliest opportunity
* D32/33/A1 and D34/V1 qualifications, or equivalent
* Full UK driving licence with no major endorsements and access to a vehicle
* Experience of assessing and training within the relevant subject area, with sound knowledge of the health and social care sector
* Experience of managing a caseload of learners or candidates
