Professional - Maintenance & Engineering Technician
We are looking for an automation‑focused technician to support the Felinfach site in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring our automation equipment operates at the highest standards and drive continuous improvement across the factory.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop site automation systems (hardware/software, SCADA, PLC, Variable Speed Drives, instrumentation, electrical control gear).
* Provide first‑line support for automation‑related issues and breakdowns.
* Support capital projects with control and automation expertise.
* Implement and close out preventive maintenance work orders.
* Ensure accurate records, backups, and compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
* Conduct and improve predictive maintenance of complex line equipment.
* Conduct corrective maintenance for site equipment failure and breakdown.
* Complete and update plant maintenance records.
* Deliver continuous improvement and equipment/process modifications for CAPEX projects.
* Contribute to digital transformation and sustainability initiatives.
* Utilize CMMS systems and reporting suites.
* Carry out equipment and plant condition appraisals.
* Develop SOPs and work instructions.
* Support the implementation of maintenance excellence.
Qualifications
* Strong technical expertise in automation, PLC, and SCADA systems—particularly Siemens.
* HNC/HND in Engineering or an equivalent qualification in electrical, instrumentation or automation disciplines.
* Minimum five years of industry experience, with dairy experience an advantage; a time‑served apprenticeship in an industrial environment is required.
* Experience in project management.
* Excellent problem‑solving abilities, collaborative approach, and strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
