We are seeking a skilled and versatile Fabric Engineer to provide high-quality building services maintenance service across the Chatham site.
This role focuses on carpentry, painting, decorating, and general fabric maintenance, ensuring that client properties are maintained to the highest standards.
You will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works, delivering tasks promptly and professionally to exceed customer expectations. The successful candidate will carry out multi-trade fabric maintenance, including minor plumbing, mechanical tasks, and exterior works, ensuring that equipment and surrounding areas conform to company standards.
You will represent the company professionally, liaise proactively with clients, and maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out fabric-related PPM, reactive, and ad hoc maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
* Deliver a range of building services maintenance, including carpentry, painting, decorating, minor plumbing, and mechanical works.
* Ensure all equipment and surrounding areas operate to specified performance and company standards.
* Represent the company professionally to clients, ensuring a positive customer experience.
* Evaluate equipment performance and ensure proper servicing and maintenance under contract.
* Take a proactive approach to client liaison, escalating or relaying concerns as necessary.
* Maintain accurate administration, documentation, and records, including compliance with H&S, risk assessments, and COSHH regulations.
* Suggest improvements or innovations to enhance service delivery.
* Work safely in accordance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
Qualifications
* NVQ/City & Guilds in carpentry, woodworking, or related trade qualification or time-served multi-trades operative with significant carpentry/joinery experience.
* Recognised craft apprenticeship preferred.
* License to work on fire door sets desirable (training can be provided).
* IPAF / PASMA certification (training provided).
* Proven experience in multi-trade fabric skills, including carpentry, painting, decorating, minor building works, roof repairs, ceiling/wall/floor tiles, and general building services maintenance.
* Experience adhering to Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
