Role: Planning Enforcement Officer REF 1538744 Contract Length: 3 months with potential extension Location: Rugby IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: Flexible Spinwell is recruiting for a Planning Enforcement Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER To ensure the provision of an efficient and effective Planning Enforcement Service under the general direction of the Principal Planning Officer for Enforcement. To take the appropriate action to remedy breaches of planning control, having regard to relevant legislation, and related guidance, best practice and the Council’s Planning Enforcement Policy. To maintain planning enforcement practices and procedures and keep the Council’s Planning and Enforcement Policy up to date in accordance with the Council’s aims and objectives. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER GCSE’s grade AC /9-4 or equivalent, including mathematics and English, or demonstrate ability to an equivalent standard Ability to work in a well organised and thorough manner and maintain accurate records. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, unambiguous and courteous manner. A full UK driving licence with access to own transport for business use Ability to weigh a range of considerations and produce justified conclusions and recommendations. Experience of working systematically, thoroughly and keeping accurate records. Be able to write clear, accurate and concise reports and letters. Experience of successfully dealing with other people in relation to issues and concerns. IT skills – ability to use Microsoft Office programmes and adapt to other software packages.
