Job Description:
Your new company
Solihull Council is a well-regarded local authority with a reputation for delivering high-quality services to children and families. You’ll be joining a passionate and hardworking team that values professionalism, independence, and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
Your new role
As an Independent Reviewing Officer, you will be responsible for chairing up to four or five Child Protection Conferences per week, most of which will be held face-to-face. You will also conduct Looked After Children (LAC) reviews, where you will be expected to take your own minutes. The role involves auditing casework and ensuring statutory compliance.
You will be based at the Chelmsley Wood office, with the flexibility to work from home when not attending meetings. The role requires someone who is confident, experienced, and able to hit the ground running.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer within children’s social care. A strong understanding of child protection legislation and statutory guidance is essential, as you must be confident in challenging practice, able to work at pace, and committed to delivering high standards.
The role requires a full driving licence and the ability to travel to face-to-face meetings. A current DBS check will also be needed.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will join a supportive and dedicated team that takes pride in their work and values collaboration. You will benefit from a flexible working arrangement, with the ability to work from home when not attending meetings. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £38 and the opportunity to work in a well-structured and respected local authority.
