Purpose of Position
The Haile College of Business at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in Financial Planning. This role will be instrumental in launching and leading a new CFP Board-registered undergraduate track in Financial Planning. The anticipated start date for this position is August 11, 2025.
The AACSB-accredited Haile College of Business serves over 3,400 of NKU's 15,500 students, fostering a dynamic environment focused on student engagement, applied research, and regional impact. NKU is located just seven miles from downtown Cincinnati, offering a high quality of life in a metropolitan area of nearly two million people.
Primary Responsibilities
The faculty member will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating the undergraduate Financial Planning program, including curriculum design, compliance with CFP Board requirements, and program oversight. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will serve as the department's primary liaison to the CFP Board and oversee all reporting and certification processes. This individual will also support student recruitment, promote industry engagement, and help position the program as a regional leader in financial planning education.
Responsibilities for this position include teaching finance and financial planning courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The faculty member will be responsible for developing and implementing the undergraduate CFP track, including curriculum design and program coordination. They will serve as the department's primary liaison with the CFP Board, managing all necessary documentation, reporting, and ensuring compliance with certification requirements. In addition, the faculty member is expected to participate in departmental and university service activities.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will hold a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics from an AACSB-accredited institution, be certified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and have at least five years of full-time professional experience in financial planning. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
