We are seeking a talented and passionate chef to join our culinary team. This position would be perfect for an experienced sous chef who is looking for the next step up in their career.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Ability to commute/relocate. Great Missenden HP16 0AA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Summary of duties

· Overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.

· Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation and cooking techniques.

· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

· Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food production to ensure quality and consistency.

· Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking methods, food handling, and safety procedures.

· Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.

· Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.

· Help create an innovative culinary experience that reflects the restaurant's vision and values.

Experience

· Proven experience as Sous Chef or in a similar role within a gastro pub setting is desirable. At least 3 years experience required

· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices.

· Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and training kitchen staff.

· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
