The role
We are working with a large, inclusive secondary and sixth-form setting to recruit a Pastoral Mentor to support students who require additional emotional, behavioural, or social support to fully engage with school life and learning.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in pastoral care, SEMH support, youth work, or mentoring, who can provide consistency, structure, and positive relationships across KS3–KS5.

Key responsibilities
6. Deliver 1:1 and small-group pastoral support
7. Support students with SEMH needs, behaviour, attendance, and engagement
8. Act as a trusted adult and positive role model
9. Support reintegration plans and targeted interventions
10. Work closely with pastoral leaders, SEN staff, and external agencies
The ideal candidate
11. Experience working with young people in a pastoral, mentoring, or support role
12. Calm, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
13. Confident managing behaviour and de-escalation
14. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
15. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
