GSL Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Romsey to recruit a full-time Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA).

About the Role:
As an ELSA, you will work closely with students who require support in managing their emotions, developing self-esteem, and overcoming social, emotional, and mental health barriers to learning. You will deliver planned sessions, either one-to-one or in small groups, and contribute to the wider pastoral support within the school.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver targeted emotional literacy interventions to students
* Promote positive mental health and wellbeing
* Work closely with pastoral leaders and SEN staff to identify pupils in need of support
* Support behaviour for learning strategies
* Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to staff and parents
* Participate in training and team meetings as required
Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be a qualified ELSA or have relevant experience in a similar role
* Have a good understanding of child development and mental health
* Be empathetic, nurturing and resilient
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Be able to work independently and use initiative
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
