Your new company
A healthcare provider in Lincoln is looking to add a maintenance operative to their estates and facilities team. The ideal candidate will be either mechanically or electrically qualified and have a full UK driving license with access to their own vehicle.
Hours per week: Monday to Friday
The role is available on both a temporary and a permanent basis. If permanent, once you have passed the probationary period, you will be required to take part in the on-call rota, 1 in every 6 weeks (bonus payments for this).
Salary: Up to £35,000 per year plus mileage paid at 66p per mile for travel between sites (own vehicle required).
May be required to travel to Nottingham occasionally, so postcodes LN6/NG23 may be ideal.
Job Duties
* Ensure the prompt completion of all work orders for planned maintenance, reactive response, specialist sub-contract work orders, and remedial work orders.
* Provide routine and specialised engineering maintenance and breakdown support to a specific hospital site.
* Provide competent technical, health, safety, and environmental support & assistance as required and act as an exemplar of company policies and procedures.
* Provide training, mentoring, and hands-on assistance to site-based technicians or engineering assistants.
* Support and advise hospital managers on engineering matters as needed.
* Demonstrate a can-do culture based on exemplary engineering standards in an environment of open and honest integrity.
* Help build and develop a strong team ethos.
* Work at any hospital within the cluster to cover for engineering absence, attend meetings, or provide specialist advice or services to ensure continued operational coverage.
What you'll need to succeed
* Current CSCS card at appropriate level; electrically qualified candidates require current ECS card. Candidates without the appropriate card will not be considered.
* City & Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Willingness to act as AP and RP Medgas as required.
* Time-served apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
* Understanding of L8 Legionella ACOP within hospital buildings.
* High level of organisation and time management skills, especially in environments with multiple priorities.
* Sound fault-finding techniques and ability to read drawings.
* Proficient in PC use, including software and systems.
