Monarch Education is working with a secondary school in Tipton to recruit a full-time Food Technology Teacher to deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 on a long-term basis starting in September
Role Overview
Plan and deliver Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for GCSE coursework and practical assessments
Maintain classroom and kitchen safety in line with school policies
Differentiate lessons to support a range of abilities, including SEN
Monitor, assess, and track student progress and attainment
Contribute to wider school activities, including intervention sessions where requiredKey Responsibilities
Deliver practical and theory-based Food Technology lessons
Support students in developing cooking skills, nutrition knowledge, and food safety awareness
Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain hygiene standards in practical lessons
Use assessment data to inform lesson planning and targeted support
Work with colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development
Maintain accurate records of student progress and courseworkRequirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Experience teaching Food Technology in a UK secondary school
Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Knowledge of GCSE Food Technology specifications and assessment requirements
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply
