About Us:
At Alexandra Care Home with Nursing, our priority is simple: to provide exceptional care in a warm, supportive environment. We're home to a dedicated community for people living with dementia who need nursing care (EMI), with capacity for 38 residents. Every day, we strive to make life comfortable, safe, meaningful for our residents, and rewarding for our team.
Our Values
We live by five core values: Curious, Proud, Passionate, Trustworthy, and Kind. These aren't just words, they guide how we support our residents, their families, and each other. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Community Manager to lead our dementia community. Ideally, you'll be a registered nurse (NMC PIN) with experience managing a ward, community, or working as a deputy manager in a nursing home.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and inspiring a team of nurses and carers to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
* Supporting the growth of your team by identifying strengths, providing mentorship, and creating opportunities for professional development.
* Coaching team members through challenges and encouraging a culture of continuous learning.
* Managing rotas, team meetings, and supervisions so your team feels motivated, valued, and supported.
* Working with residents and families to create and adapt care plans that truly reflect individual needs.
* Ensuring we meet (and exceed) standards by carrying out audits and maintaining compliance with the CQC framework.
* Building strong, trusting relationships with residents, families, health professionals, and regulators.
* Overseeing safe and well-planned admissions.
* Keeping safeguarding at the heart of everything we do.
* Collaborating with other managers and leaders in the home to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices.
What We're Looking For
* Nurse qualified with an active NMC PIN (RMN preferred).
* Previous leadership experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting.
* Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* A genuine passion for developing others and helping your team reach their full potential.
* A compassionate, hands-on approach to dementia care.
* Knowledge of audits, governance, and regulatory requirements.
What We Offer
* Starting salary from £40k
* Paid breaks
* DBS check covered
* Free uniforms
* Ongoing training and professional development
* Opportunities to grow into more senior roles through tailored leadership development
* Holiday pay
* 40-hour contract
* Company pension scheme
Why Work With Us?
* A professional but homely setting — we're not a hospital, and we're not a hotel.
* A supportive, family-like atmosphere where every team member is valued.
* A chance to work across diverse communities with different care needs.
* Ongoing investment in your growth, training, and wellbeing.
* The opportunity to mentor, coach, and shape a team that shares your passion for outstanding care.
The Ideal Candidate
* Flexible to work across a 7-day rota.
* Holds (or working towards) a Level 5 Health and Social Care Leadership qualification or equivalent.
* Reliable, committed, and above all, caring.
