First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our client based in Manchester and Leeds.
Applications from ex-military personnel are actively encouraged however, all applicants will be given due consideration.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Obtaining, analysing and interpreting traffic and transport data from a range of external sources.
2. Appraising development sites in terms of their accessibility by a range of transport modes.
3. Undertaking junction capacity assessments.
4. Day-to-day technical input into projects as well as project management of smaller development proposals.
5. Inputting to masterplan and junction designs.
6. Attending and contributing to design team and client meetings.
Skills and qualifications:
7. At least three or more years’ experience in the transport industry.
8. A degree qualification in a relevant field.
9. Have a thorough understanding of the principles of transport planning.
10. Excellent presentation and technical writing skills.
11. The ability to manage their own time to meet project deadlines.
12. The ability to develop and run traffic models using Junctions software.
13. An understanding of the application of highway design standards and guidance.
14. Technical experience, including proficiency with relevant industry software e.g. TRICS, TEMPRO.
