An exciting opportunity within the Endometriosis Department for the post of a Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join the Endometriosis service as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Although this is a band 7 role, we are happy to offer a band 6 development position to the right candidate. The post provides scope to continue developing nurse-led initiatives and innovative working practices.
To lead on the development of an advanced / expert nurse specialist service for women referred to The Cornwall Endometriosis Centre, responsible for a caseload covering patients from the South West Region. The individual will be an autonomous nurse practitioner with the ability to manage complex clinical situations.
Provide guidance, supervision, education and teaching of peers, junior staff and primary care professionals. They will work autonomously in the assessment, performance and reporting of ultrasound investigations. Plan and implement treatment plans for the patient pathway and arrange discharge and follow-up care as necessary. They will be actively involved in monitoring and raising the profile of the Service across the South West to ensure patients receive sustainable high quality care that is safe and effective. They will take a lead role in audit of the service, producing reports and figures for the quarterly audit to provide evidence and assurance of the quality of the endometriosis service.
