Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Liaison Psychiatry Service. You will have a real passion for mental health care and be able to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
You will have a range of duties including seeing, assessing and treating patients that are attending acute services, primarily in the Emergency Department. This may include delivering a range of nursing and psychosocial interventions to individual patients and their families, as appropriate. Within a team you will often act as an autonomous clinical specialist within the general hospital. Your role requires consultation, liaison and teaching general hospital staff at all levels.
The Service runs from 0700–2100hrs, 7days a week and you will be required to work shifts covering evenings and weekends. The Service may extend to provide 24hr care, with possible commissioning changes, and includes welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications
We are particularly interested in receiving applications from RMNs with experience of providing therapies, such as CBT or EMDR. Therefore, we are seeking a confident and accomplished practitioner to join our accredited service and share the vision of 'high quality care for all'.
The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience of acute (Crisis/Liaison) assessment at Band 6 level or above.
