Job Opportunity: Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Our national commercial team brings together specialists across various sectors, including general commercial, digital, IP, energy, renewables, projects, and procurement. We serve FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, public sector organizations, educational institutions, and industry bodies, handling high-profile projects and regulatory matters. Our team is one of the largest and most successful of its kind, with experts in industries such as manufacturing, life sciences, aerospace, energy, transport, and international trade. We operate across UK offices and collaborate internationally, providing a blend of City presence and local knowledge to support foreign inward investors in the UK.
We are seeking a 3+ to senior PQE commercial contracts lawyer to join our team and support our growing pipeline of projects.
What does the team do?
We advise on a wide range of contractual arrangements related to strategic projects and daily business operations across diverse industries. Our focus includes supporting advanced manufacturing, energy transition, decarbonisation, and productivity initiatives. Responsibilities involve contract strategy, drafting, negotiation, data protection (with specialist support), and risk management.
What’s exciting about this role?
You will work within a diverse team that values support and creativity. Your role involves collaborating closely with in-house legal teams and providing in-house style support to businesses without internal lawyers. You will gain experience working on multi-jurisdictional projects, supporting large industrial projects, expansion into new markets like the USA and Saudi Arabia, and potentially undertaking international secondments.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
We seek a lawyer with over 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracts, gained at a City or large regional firm or in-house. Experience with international clients, import/export, tech, IP, and data protection is advantageous. Essential skills include excellent drafting, communication, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering top-tier client service.
Minimum requirements:
* At least 3 years of post-qualified experience in commercial contracts as a UK solicitor.
* Practical experience in a commercial environment, applying contract law at a reputable firm or in-house.
* Expertise in complex transactions, including supply chain, procurement, outsourcing, R&D, and sales channels.
* Ability to communicate complex legal advice clearly and practically to non-lawyers.
