About the role
:
The Senior Service Support Officer will be expected to undertake a variety of duties associated with a busy office environment which include to:
1. Maintain and update asset registers, databases and related records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
2. Act as a key point of contact and respond to internal and external enquiries relating to asset information and records.
3. Use systems such as QGIS / GIS to manage asset‑based spatial data, including mapping Council‑owned land and property.
4. Provide administrative support for the coordination of asset related activities including contracts and other related documentation.
5. Assist with collating of information for various Service Plans and performance monitoring.
6. Assist with collating of information for asset inspections, audits and reporting requirements.
7. Provide general administrative support alongside other Service Support Officers.
8. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Assets team and across all Services to ensure the needs of the Council are met.
About the Candidate:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual, with a genuine desire to contribute to the effective delivery of the Council’s Assets services. The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
9. Is educated to NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or has equivalent experience, with a background in administrative or service support roles.
10. Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and technical experience of using ICT systems (e.g. asset management systems / GIS / QGIS).
11. Is adaptable and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
12. Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
13. Communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
14. Can build excellent working relationships with internal colleagues.
15. Has a sound understanding of legal documentation.
A background in a legal or estates environment would be a distinct advantage but not essential. Welsh language learning is supported within the Council, with training opportunities available to support with meeting the specified Welsh language levels.

Democratic Services
We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer. Our key functions include:
