The successful candidate can be based at any of our branches across Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for all aspects of transport operations within the company. Working as part of a team, you will be heavily involved in various operations from day-to-day challenges through to project managing and specifying new additions to the commercial fleet including all mobile plant. What You'll Bring Essential 2-3 years' experience in transport or logistics management CPC for Transport Managers (Road Haulage) Strong understanding of tachograph legislation, driver hours, and compliance requirements Experience using telematics and other tools to monitor and improve driver behaviour A track record of improving fleet performance, reducing downtime, and enhancing customer service Excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills Confidence with IT systems, analytics, and report Reporting to the Operations Manager your role as Group Fleet Manager will include: Operator Licence & Compliance Maintenance of best practice transport principles, policies, and processes to continuously improve operational safety and compliance. Ensuring the Transport departments throughout the Group operate in a safe and efficient manner whilst being fully compliant with all legislation. Ensuring in-house and outsourced transport providers are operating in accordance with relevant and current legislative requirements. Delivering solutions to meet future legislative or industry developments in relation to safety and compliance whilst maintaining strong budgetary controls. Creating an environment where safety and compliance is embedded in the core principles of the transport function. Fleet & Driver Management Assist in procurement deals with Operations Director Driver Training Management of Maintenance Costs (Planned, Preventative, Breakdown, Damages) Maintain detailed records for every vehicle (e.g., parts, service history, accident, and incident details). Responsible for the fleet and all legislation compliance. Meeting agreed Transport/Fleet KPIs including utilization, efficiencies, capacity targets, and cost savings. Implementation of action plans for conditions that may include vehicle breakdowns, crashes, failed inspections, and information that may affect the fleet traveling to its destination. Manage maintenance vendors, procurement, and associated contracts. Liaise with Transport/Branch managers to ensure that all drivers comply with the rules & regulations within the company and that the fleet communicates effectively. Provide strategic direction to ensure best practice across the group transport fleet. Oversee the day-to-day management of vehicle maintenance, fuel management, vehicle legal compliance, and H&S regulations. Manage the booking repairs, MOT service, RFL's, fuel cards, and accident administration. Procurement of lorries and forklifts across the Group. Procurement of fuel, oils, tyres, transport consumables, and associated materials related to transport at best price and customer service. Review work schedules, time at location, and idle times with management to ensure optimal use of the transport fleet. Opti-drive - review and agree key parameters. Expense Purchase ordering and coding to ensure accurate monthly reporting P&L Review with Operations director Insurance Management Ensure that MID is kept up to date, including Group fleet and cars. Ensure that all accidents are documented using the Safety Cloud and insurance files are managed accordingly. Liaise with Transport/Branch managers to ensure that accidents are investigated and appropriate action taken. Reporting and Budgeting Daily /Weekly / Monthly reports to be prepared and distributed Forecasting / identifying issues reporting them in a timely manner to minimise risk to business function Assist Operations Director in Budgeting process including Capex additions to the fleet and disposal of assets.
