Electrical Design Engineer - Heywood, Manchester We're looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our busy multi-disciplinary Engineering team, working across electrical, mechanical, and software design. You'll play a key role in delivering vacuum metallizing solutions-from initial concept through to detailed electrical design. What you'll be doing Project & Stakeholder Management Lead and manage all electrical design aspects of machine projects.Work closely with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to deliver effective solutions. Electrical Design Responsibilities Produce and develop electrical control circuit designs in line with current British and European regulations.Select appropriate components and cabling suitable for circuit and environmental requirements.Follow internal and regulatory design standards, ensuring high-quality, accurate electrical drawings.Create new drawings and update existing ones (including red-line modifications). Continuous Improvement & Development Contribute new ideas to enhance machine design and design processes.Proactively develop your own technical skills and industry knowledge. What we're looking forEssential Skills & Experience Experience in an engineering or design office environment.Strong background in electrical circuit design and low-voltage control panels.Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., Zuken E3, Promis-e, RSWire, EPLAN).Good understanding of British and European regulations.Confident communicator, able to explain processes to colleagues, vendors, and customers.Ownership mindset with strong problem-solving ability.Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks effectively.Self-motivated, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality work.Willingness to travel internationally when required.Competent in Microsoft Office tools. Desirable Experience with Zuken E3 or Promis-e.Familiarity with US regulations.SAP BOM system experience.Fault-finding knowledge. Education HNC / HND or BEng in Electrical Engineering. Additional Helpful Experience (Desirable but not essential) Working with capital machinery.Vacuum, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.Rotating machinery and VFDs.Electrical design to EN60204 and Functional Safety to ISO13849.
