Supervisor - Goodenough College, London £15.80 per hour40 hours per week5 out of 7 days We are looking for a proactive and people‑focused Supervisor to lead and support our housekeeping team at Goodenough College. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and client, while delivering services in line with contractual requirements and ESS standards.This is a hands‑on supervisory role where you will balance operational delivery with team leadership, quality assurance, and health & safety compliance.Key AccountabilitiesDeliver housekeeping services in line with contractual Service Level Agreements and ESS proceduresPromote a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with company and client Health & Safety requirementsReport all health & safety hazards, near misses, and accidents promptlyMaintain a consistently clean, safe, and hygienic working environmentSupport the implementation of the Compass Service FrameworkCarry out regular quality audits to ensure high standards of cleanliness and productivityRecruit, train, and develop team members to perform their roles safely and effectivelyEngage, motivate, and manage the team through regular briefings, performance reviews, and day‑to‑day supervisionManage rotas, timesheets, wages, and associated paperwork accurately and on timeControl costs within agreed budgets, including labour, equipment, and stockUndertake general housekeeping duties as requiredAttend off‑site meetings and training courses when requiredRole model The ESS Way behaviours at all timesPerson SpecificationEssentialStrong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers and colleaguesSelf‑motivated and capable of working independentlyPositive, flexible, and customer‑focused approachExperience supervising people in a commercial FM or housekeeping environment (minimum 6 months)Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including COSHHAbility to manage rotas, staffing, and basic cost controlsWillingness to work flexibly to meet business needsDesirablePrevious experience in a similar supervisory roleNVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant areaBICSc Level 1 or Level 2 qualificationAs part of Compass you\'ll help to feed people, fuel progress and forge connections in around 6,000 venues.
