Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a Care Home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in meal preparation and food preparation, ensuring that every meal meets our high standards for the needs of our individuals we care for.
Responsibilities.
* Assist in the planning and execution of daily meal preparation tasks.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
* Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
* Clean and organize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after use.
* Must have a understanding of special dietary requirements and special diets prescribed by health professionals.
* Must be willing to cover annual leave as a cook when other cooks are off .
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a Care home or kitchen environment is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends on a rota basis.
Role is for 26 hours a week over 4 days 11am-5:30pm
Will be required to assit in the kitchen as cook when cooks are on annual Leave.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
