We are recruiting reliable HGV Class 2 refuse drivers to work with a well-established waste and recycling service based in Kingsbridge, Devon. This is a physically active driving role combining vehicle operation with hands-on collections. It offers regular shifts, competitive pay, and the opportunity to move into a permanent contract for the right candidates.
Location
Kingsbridge, Devon. Within easy reach of South Brent, Totnes, Paignton, Plymouth, and surrounding South Devon towns.
Salary
£17.65 per hour PAYE Advance. Other PAYE models are available.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operating a Category C (Class 2) refuse and recycling vehicle on designated routes
2. Assisting with the collection, loading, and unloading of waste and recycling bins
3. Liaising with depot staff for daily route instructions and updates
4. Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues promptly
5. Following all health and safety guidelines on and off the road
Qualifications
Essential
6. A valid Cat C (Class 2) driving licence
7. In-date CPC and digital tachograph cards
8. No more than 6 points on your licence and no DR, DD, or IN endorsements
9. Physically capable of handling bins and containers
10. Own transport to travel to the depot
11. A mobile phone for receiving route and schedule information
Desirable
12. Prior experience in waste collection or multi-drop driving
13. A strong working knowledge of South Devon routes and areas
