Who are we?

Good in Bread is a London-based premium sourdough direct-to-consumer online bakery start-up founded in 2020. In 2024 we expanded nationwide, doubling our customer-base and turnover year-on-year. Known for our high-quality artisanal products and strong customer loyalty, we are now looking to start a small production team, which will be our first venture into in-house production, after sourcing products from external suppliers for 5 years.

The Junior Baker will initially look atter the entirety of the production process of our sourdough bagels including baking, packaging and distribution, though with company growth, our intention is for the role to become solely baking.

Who are we looking for?

● 2 years' experience in a baking role

● A Self-Motivated "go-getter", someone with a desire to learn and grow with the company

● A fast learner with a "can-do" attitude

● Good communicator

● Comfortable packing, fulfilling orders and managing stock inventory.

● Comfortable tidying up after a day's shift.

Role and Responsibilities:

●
Training with an experienced baker
– working alongside an experienced senior baker to perfect the entire baking process for the first few weeks of your job.

●
Once training is complete
– overseeing the production process from start to finish of a bagel production process.

●
Checking on daily production requirements
– starting the shift with a check on bagel volumes required.

●
Managing ingredient inventory
- informing your supervisors of any ingredient stock that needs replenishing.

●
Cleaning equipment on a daily basis
– making sure all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained at the highest standard.

●
Tidying up after shift has finished
– keeping the warehouse tidy and organised, ready for the next day's shift.

●
Packing orders
– assisting the packing team with fulfilling orders.

Competence & Experience:

● Bakery experience; preferably with sourdough and bagels, but not essential

● Comfortable overseeing the entirety of a production process, from mixing to baking, stock management and maintaining a healthy sourdough starter.

● Food hygiene qualifications -
Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety qualification

and
Food Allergen Awareness Training.

● A team player – willing to go the extra mile to help others and be collaborative with your approach.
