Murphy is recruiting for a Project Manager to work with Murphy Technical Services on Uxbridge Moor Substation along with other projects in the Energy sector. Murphy Technical Services (MTS) is growing and sits within the multidisciplinary Specialist Businesses Unit of Murphy. This includes building, ground engineering, electrical services, utility connections, design, and engineering, alongside the specialisms of the wider business.
A day in the life of a Murphy Project Manager
* Manage and oversee a variety of projects including Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health works from preconstruction through to final handover
* Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
* Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success
* Manage the procurement and tender process
* Review and approve contractor proposals
* Ensure that construction and installation teams are accountable for their performance against schedules and man-hour budgets (Planned vs Actual)
* Coordinate handover documentation to ensure project completion in line with client requirements
* Organize team activities pre, during, and post construction, including stakeholder and risk management
* Lead on budget and change management
Ideal candidates will be experienced M&E Project Managers or Package Managers handling projects from £500k up to £5 million, with a background in complex construction projects, NEC contract knowledge, team leadership, and preferably experience with Network Rail or National Grid projects.
