Managing Director | Transformation - Turnaround - Scale up - Culture change - Supply Chain - Employee engagement - Revenue growth

The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business growth through a combination of personal sales performance and team leadership. Approximately 70% of the role will focus on generating new business directly through proactive networking, prospecting, and relationship building, with the remaining 30% dedicated to leading and developing the sales team.

This is a hands‑on role suited to a commercially astute sales leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment. You will manage a team of three Business Development Managers and one Bid Writer, supporting them to exceed revenue targets while personally leading high‑value and strategic sales opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets.
* Personally generate new business through networking, industry events, strategic outreach, and proactive prospecting.
* Manage and optimise the full sales lifecycle across energy supply, commercial solar, and energy efficiency solutions.
* Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to shape sales strategy, forecasting, and commercial planning.
* Track and analyse KPIs, pipeline health, and team performance to ensure targets are met.
* Support the Bid Writer and BDM team in developing high‑quality proposals, tenders, and commercial submissions.
* Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with clients, suppliers, and strategic partners.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging market opportunities.
* Represent the business professionally at client meetings, supplier engagements, and industry events.


Skills & Experience

* Proven track record of success in B2B sales, consistently exceeding revenue targets.
* Experience leading, coaching, and motivating a sales team in a commercial environment.
* Strong business development capability with a proactive, self‑generating approach to sales.
* Experience within the energy supply or renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long‑term growth objectives with a hands‑on sales approach.
* Results‑driven, commercially minded, and confident operating within a rapidly scaling business.
