High Pastures is a supported living service where we support 4 people to live as independently as possible in their daily lives. High Pastures is located in a lovely rural area of Keighley.
There is a strong focus on supporting individuals' lives in a person centred way which includes various activities in the home and in the community, shopping, managing own budgets, going on holiday and cooking. We have 3 individuals who require a medium to high level of personal care support and one individual who requires moving and handling.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential as shifts can include days, weekends, bank holidays and sleep in's. The shifts range from 7-15 hours a day depending on the needs of the individual we support.
promoting the independence of people we support
supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
arranging activities in the home and in the local community
helping residents stay safe and healthy
assisting with personal care needs
manual handling
supporting people with medication including creams and lotions
ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.
What skills and qualities do I need to have?
Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. flexible, patient and non-judgemental
able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed
transferable experience of helping people to manage anxiety
