Role Overview
The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team to lead on the assessment, diagnosis, and support of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The role includes independently undertaking assessment and diagnosis of ADHD or ASD for a defined cohort of children/young people and initiating ongoing clinical management of children and young people receiving medication to manage their ADHD symptoms. This involves independent prescribing.
The post holder will contribute to the redesign and development of services and pathways delivered from the Child Development Centre to meet the needs of the children.
Responsibilities
* Lead assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and ASD for children and young people.
* Prescribe medication and manage ongoing clinical care for children with ADHD.
* Redesign and develop service pathways for the Child Development Centre.
* Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Paediatricians, and Support Workers.
Qualifications
* Qualified nurse (RN, RSCN, RMN, or RLDN).
* Extensive experience working within a multi-agency team.
* Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake within the first year.
* Preferred additional post-registration training Specialist Community Practitioner qualification (Health Visiting or School Nursing).
* Experience as a band 6 practitioner.
Pay Band
Band 7 (Band 6 until V300 Non-Medical prescribing qualification is completed).
Team
The role will be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team made up of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Paediatricians, Nurses, and Support Workers.
