Overview
Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 8a) or Preceptorship (Band 7). Permanent Post 0.6 (22.5 hours) opportunities for flexible working. We are seeking to recruit a skilled, innovative and compassionate Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work across the acute in-patient and community mental health services in the London borough of Bromley.
This post involves 1 day based in the Older People CMHT at Bridgeways, Bromley, and 2 days on Scadbury, the Older People acute ward at Green Parks House, Princess Royal University Hospital.
The ward provides an assessment and intervention service to older people with a range of mental health needs including dementia.
There is a strong focus on indirect work through team formulation, reflective practice and staff training, and the post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the wider inpatient team to think more psychologically and to reflect on the wider organisation of care.
Responsibilities
* Join well established multi-professional teams and benefit from close working relationships with other on-site psychological therapists.
* Provide a specialist clinical service to clients and families (CMHT) and supervise both qualified and trainee psychologists, as required.
* Work in a dynamic and integrative team with different therapy models used creatively according to service users’ needs.
* On the ward, contribute to a multi-modal trans-diagnostic approach with older people and their families and carers.
* Support the development of the transitional pathway for older people between hospital and community services, offering innovation and leadership in this area.
* Support learning and development: specialist clinical supervision provided; participate in peer support and service reviews across the Acute and Crisis Pathway.
Qualifications/Experience
We are looking for a skilled, innovative and compassionate Clinical or Counselling Psychologist. The post suits someone with a genuine interest in working therapeutically with older people in both inpatient and community settings, and with a willingness to contribute to supervision and service development.
