Pay Rate: £ per hour
Hours: Downpatrick: 36 hours per week | Warrenpoint: hours per week

About the Role
Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting for Environmental Health Officers to support a local public body based across Downpatrick and Warrenpoint.
The successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of an effective, customer-focused Health and Wellbeing Service. This role will involve working across areas within the Health and Wellbeing Department, supporting the delivery of services that are innovative, compliant and value for money.
You will carry out inspections, investigate complaints and accidents, enforce relevant statutory provisions and provide professional advice to members of the public, commercial organisations and government bodies.
Key Responsibilities
2. Carry out inspections of commercial and domestic premises
* Investigate complaints, accidents and environmental health concerns
* Enforce relevant statutory provisions and legislation
* Provide advice and recommendations to the public, businesses and government organisations
* Support the delivery of an effective Health and Wellbeing Service
* Ensure work is carried out in line with statutory and legislative requirements
* Follow good governance, best practice and health and safety procedures
* Prepare reports, records and correspondence as required
* Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and email
* Work outside normal office hours when required, including emergency call outs
Essential Criteria
Applicants must have:
3. A Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, or equivalent qualification
* 6 months' work experience in an Environmental Health role
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of current environmental health issues
* Competence using email and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
* A full current driving licence and access to transport, or access to transport to meet the needs of the role
* Ability to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, public or bank holidays and emergency call outs
Desirable Criteria
It would be desirable to have:
4. Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board, EHORB, or equivalent
* 6 months' previous experience in the enforcement of environmental health legislation
