Job Overview
We are seeking a Consultant / Specialist doctor with specialist skills in integrated sexual health and HIV medicine (including leading outpatient HIV clinics, management of sexually transmitted infection and contraception). The appointee will contribute in the Clinical Governance programme and may participate in research. The post holder will be based within the East Cheshire sexual health service.
Responsibilities
* Deliver appointment clinics in integrated sexual health and HIV medicine, including a weekly evening clinic.
* Provide fully independent outpatient HIV clinical care with MDT support for complex cases.
* Attend the HIV MDT and other relevant multidisciplinary meetings.
* Manage clinical audit, resource management and staff supervision.
* Deliver clinical teaching and research where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
* Excellent patient communication and ability to organise and prioritise workload.
* Ability to delegate responsibilities and supervise staff.
* Robust audit capability within a team structure.
* Motivate and inspire a multidisciplinary team and work sensitively within teams.
* Significant sexual health clinical experience at senior clinician level.
* Management of sexually transmitted infections.
* Knowledge of contraception, sexual and reproductive health.
* Significant HIV (outpatient) clinical experience.
* Basic Medical Qualification registrable in UK; MRCP or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in women’s sexual health (vulval disease, psychosexual counselling, etc.).
* Knowledge and principles of resource and budget management.
* Awareness of core NHS values.
* Entry on the GMC Specialist register for GU Medicine via CCT, CESR or European Community rights.
* Letters of competence in IUD/IUS, MFSRH, sub‑dermal implants.
* Diploma in HIV Medicine, diploma in GU Medicine.
* Research/publications in sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, contraceptive/reproductive health.
* Teaching qualification (e.g., Faculty registered trainer, STIF trainer).
* Appropriate higher degree (MSc, MD, PhD).

Full‑time (10PA) with flexible working and less than full time options available. Salary: £109,725 – £145,478 per annum. Contract: Permanent (Consultant or Specialist doctor). DBS checks and immigration compliance as per requirements.
