Role Overview
As Finance Manager, you will provide essential financial, reporting, and tax compliance support for a key European legal entity. Your mission includes ensuring the timely collation of indirect tax documentation, supporting VAT return preparation, managing audit queries, and guaranteeing compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
This is a role with broad impact: it combines hands-on administrative tax compliance work with professional financial accounting responsibilities. You will liaise with top-tier external advisors (PwC, EY, Genpact), internal stakeholders, and customers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Reporting
* Oversee daily postings with a shared service team.
* Ensure accurate coding and compliance with accounting policies.
* Support POs, manual payments, and month/year-end closes.
* Prepare and review financial reports, providing accurate data for decision-making.
Compliance & Indirect Tax (VAT)
* Collate import/export documentation (e.g., CMRs, IE599) from customers.
* Package invoice copies for VAT returns and respond to indirect tax queries.
* Ensure full compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and local reporting requirements.
Audit & Controls
* Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring complete and accessible records.
* Strengthen internal controls, supervise reconciliations, and identify financial risks.
* Drive process improvements and automation for greater efficiency.
* Liaise with payables, receivables, treasury, and external advisors (PwC, EY, etc.).
* Communicate clearly with stakeholders across multiple countries.
* 3+ years PQE in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing.
* Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or local equivalent) or QBE.
* Proven experience in indirect tax compliance (VAT) and financial controls.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* High attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, and work independently in a collaborative environment.
