Religious Education (RE) Teacher – Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term until December 2025 (potential to become permanent)
Pay: £160 – £240 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-Time

Position Overview:
Supply Desk is currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in Southampton to recruit a passionate and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher for the new academic year. The successful candidate will join the school from September 2025 on a long-term basis until December 2025, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent.
This role involves teaching RE across Key Stages 3 and 4, and you'll be supported by a collaborative Humanities department. The position is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators. The school also welcomes applications from unqualified teachers or non-specialists with relevant experience in teaching RE at the secondary level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and inclusive RE lessons that explore different beliefs and promote mutual respect.
* Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
* Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
* Take part in the wider school community, including extracurricular activities.

What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in Religious Studies or a related subject (essential).
* QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
* Experience teaching Religious Education at Key Stage 3 and 4.
