About the Opportunity
The Peer Mentor Lead is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the Peer Mentor Programme, supporting and supervising campus peer mentors. Acting as a role model, they provide guidance, foster strong mentor relationships, and demonstrate leadership and integrity.
They contribute to student retention efforts by monitoring attendance, advising on absences, and coordinating campus activities. The role involves close collaboration with Academic Persistence Programme staff, acting as a student advocate and liaison with academic staff, while maintaining knowledge of university policies and best practices.
The Peer Mentor Lead tracks and analyses student data for reporting, responds to student queries across various channels, and ensures timely, accurate, and empathetic support. They help enhance the student experience by offering clear information, appropriate referrals, and expert advice.
About You
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Peer Mentor Lead with the following experience:
Essential requirements
* 2 years’ experience in a student-facing capacity, advising, mentoring, guidance or overseeing student experience programming
* Action-oriented, detail-oriented, data management proficient
* Highly motivated, excels in fast-paced environments
* Exceptional ability to communicate with students and employees and interact with diverse populations
Desirable requirements
* Experience in Higher Education Student Support
* Some graphic design/ artistic ability, marketing and/or communications background is an asset
