East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) ensures the best possible quality of life and makes every moment count for children and families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

Counsellor (Child & Young Person), The Treehouse Hospice - IP3 8NS
Full -Time, 37.5 hours per week
Permanent Contract
Salary £39,959- £48,117 per annum, dependent on experience

Do you have:
• Recognised postgraduate counselling/psychotherapy qualification (Level 5+) specific to work with children and young people (CYP)?
• UKCP Registered or BACP accredited (or working towards accreditation) or equivalent counselling accreditation?
• Regulating body allows practice with both adults and children?
• Relevant experience providing counselling to children, young people and families?
• Experience of assessment, risk management and multi agency working?
• Experience working with grief, loss, complex trauma and emotional distress?
Responsibilities include:
• Provide counselling to children, young people and families affected by illness, trauma, loss and bereavement
• Manage a varied clinical caseload
• Complete comprehensive assessments, formulations, risk assessments and regular reviews
• Deliver individual, group and family therapeutic interventions
• Work collaboratively with multi agency partners including schools, health and community services
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using approved systems
• Provide pre and post bereavement counselling and psychoeducation
• Support families with key decision making, memory making and end of life planning
• Contribute to therapeutic groups, workshops, training and organisation wide events
