Area Manager Location: Maidstone + South East Travel / Full Time / Starting December
We are a well-established community pharmacy group seeking an Area Manager. To Drive performance. Lead people. Deliver excellence.
Are you a results-driven leader who thrives on inspiring teams and making a real impact? We’re looking for an Area Manager to take ownership of a cluster of around 20 community pharmacies across our Group.
Reporting to the Head of Pharmacy and working closely with senior leaders in Services, Professional Standards, Retail and HR, you’ll play a key role in shaping performance, driving growth, and ensuring every branch delivers outstanding patient care.
You’ll be passionate about developing and motivating people, with a keen eye for opportunity and a strong commercial focus. From delivering KPIs and managing budgets to ensuring safety and compliance, you’ll balance people leadership with operational excellence.

Operational Responsibilities
* To regularly visit each pharmacy, ideally monthly, to drive business performance and lead best practice in operational standards
* Use available data and tools to diagnose, analyse and formulate plans to drive profitable growth of RX, Services and OTC whilst delivering against budgets
* Provide clarity and purpose to Pharmacy Managers enabling them to deliver business goals
* Communicate in an effective and consistent way, ensuring everyone in the branches has clarity, focus and accountability
* Build highly capable, engaged, and diverse teams through performance-led culture
* Deliver excellent standards through ensuring compliance with regulatory, professional and NHS expectations
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Community Pharmacy and factors influencing the market
* Embed an ethos of excellent customer service throughout the Region
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained within each pharmacy
* Optimise processes within the pharmacy to maximise efficiency
* Support the digital transformation process already well underway in our pharmacies

* Effectively coaching Pharmacy Managers and their teams, flexing leadership style as required
* Build highly capable, engaged, and diverse teams through leading performance-led culture
* Actively ensure engagement with all learning and development opportunities across the Region
* Contribute to the effective working of the wider Operations team by sharing best practise and supporting colleagues
* Utilise appropriate communication and engagement tools to ensure that all pharmacies are up to date on area performance and priorities
