Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based SEN school that supports pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs aged between 11 - 16 as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time temporary contract starting in September. This is a full-time long-term contract that will last the entirety of the academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis across KS3 and KS4. The pupils you will be supporting all have social, emotional and mental health needs. You will play a key part in the welfare of your new pupils by building strong constructive relationships and promoting the wellbeing of your pupils by offering a holistic, pupil-centred approach to their education. You will follow the school's behaviour policy and implement an array of positive behaviour strategies that your pupils respond best to. Typically, these will consist of reward charts, positive reinforcement, brain breaks, regulation and distraction techniques. Other duties will include by my not limited to:
1. Intervention and booster sessions in core subjects
2. Attending schools trips
3. Assisting pupils to access their localmunity
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as relevant referenceable classroom experience, as well as:
4. Experience supporting SEN (preferably SEMH and behavioural needs)
5. Experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
6. Be able tomit to a long-term full-time contract
