The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons that nurture students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills. This role is suitable for teachers seeking flexible supply work or long-term roles within a supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities as an English Teacher:
* Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3–KS5 pupils (age groups may vary depending on placement).
* Plan and adapt lessons to meet a range of learning styles and abilities.
* Assess student work, track progress, and support individual learning targets.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment.
* Encourage students to develop strong literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to enhance learning outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records in line with school policies and assessment frameworks..
English Teacher Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Previous experience teaching English is essential (placements or supply accepted).
* Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum.
* Effective classroom management and behaviour strategies.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive, flexible, and resilient approach to teaching.
* An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education.
