Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing
An exciting opportunity for two Quantity Surveyors to join the team.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in either Waltham Abbey or Hemel Hempstead and converting Work in Progress (WIP) into invoices promptly while adopting a strategic approach to maximize value and margins on assigned contracts.
Role responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor
1. Maximising the successful running and commercial control of each project to achieve optimum commercial return through the submission of monthly applications.
2. Manage projects through accurate forecasting and controlling project costs.
3. Take responsibility for commercial reporting on assigned contracts, including forecasting and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), where applicable.
4. Ensure that projects meet the legal and quality standards required in line with contract documents.
5. Meet clients to determine their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility, as well as securing any farming opportunities.
Person specification of the Quantity Surveyor
6. Experience with a main contractor, working in a commercial role on repairs/ disrepairs contracts in the social housing sector
7. Knowledge and understanding of measurement and valuation, including the use of Schedules of Rates
8. strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery and control costs
9. Strong IT skills, including internal cost systems and advanced proficiency in Excel
10. Experience in managing and improving internal and external customer relationships, with conflict-resolution skills
