Are you a Structural Engineer who’s excited by complex engineering challenges, advanced composite structures, and the chance to work on world-leading zero-emission vessels? This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation developing cutting-edge technology that is transforming the future of high-speed maritime transport.
Our client - a pioneering engineering and technology company - is expanding its Mechanical Systems team and now seeks a Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis, and development of next-generation marine systems and components.
Why this role is different
You won’t just be analysing structures - you’ll be helping to shape the architecture of a world-first technology platform. Every design decision you make will contribute to:
* Ultra-lightweight, high-performance structural components
* High-speed zero-emission vessel systems
* Advanced marine, automotive, aerospace and motorsport-level engineering
* A mission to decarbonise global maritime transport
If you love structural mechanics, FEA, first-principles thinking and working at the forefront of innovation - this is your environment.
What you’ll be doing
* Deliver structural engineering for advanced marine systems and components
* Perform FEA, hand calculations and design validation
* Develop lightweight, production-ready 3D designs using CATIA V6 / 3DX
* Support manufacturing with cost-effective and high-quality build methods
* Collaborate with Mechanical Systems, Naval Architecture, and Structural teams
* Produce technical documentation for design reviews, testing and certification
* Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulations
What we’re looking for
Essential
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Aerospace, Automotive etc.)
* 3+ years’ experience in marine, motorsport, aerospace, or high-performance engineering
* Strong knowledge of structural mechanics & first-principles problem solving
* FEA experience with ability to interpret results effectively
* Proficiency in CAD (CATIA V6/3DX preferred)
* Experience designing for manufacture and material selection
Desirable
* Exposure to maritime structures
