Nailsea School is seeking to employ a full time or part time Head of Technology from September 2026.
The successful candidate will be able to teach Design Technology / Product Design / Resistant Materials across all key stages, with the opportunity to contribute more widely to our outstanding Science and Technology faculty.
Nailsea School aims to achieve excellence for all students, through outstanding teaching and learning and is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated outstanding teacher to join an already dedicated Science and Technology faculty. Our vision is to deliver a dynamic and high-quality Technology curriculum that empowers students to develop practical, hands-on skills alongside creative and critical thinking. We want our students to leave with the confidence, technical ability and problem-solving mindset needed to succeed in the technology industry.
Nailsea School was re-built in 2009 and the space speaks for itself. Designed with students in mind, its free-flowing structure makes navigation easy and there is a sense of calm learning throughout the school. As well as benefitting from excellent technology throughout the school.
Our Technology department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that reflect the demands of modern industry. Students have access to specialist equipment including 3D printers, sewing machines, glass-making tools, and laser cutters for both wood and acrylic. Our new Technology ICT suites feature advanced design software, allowing students to develop professional-level skills in engineering, manufacturing, and design.
All students at Nailsea School study Technology at Key Stage 3, exploring a broad range of topics that provide a strong foundation across the subject. At Key Stage 4, students can choose to specialise further by studying GCSE Product Design or Textiles. The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting time, as the Technology department continues to grow and develop its curriculum across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
