Desk-Based Account Manager – Telecommunications
Location: Blackburn
Salary: £28,000-£32,000
My client is currently recruiting for a Desk-Based Account Manager to join their growing telecommunications sales team in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially driven individual who enjoys building customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and working within a fast-paced B2B environment.
This role would suit someone with strong communication skills, a proactive sales approach, and the confidence to engage with business customers over the phone and through digital channels. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and developing customer accounts while driving revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling telecommunications solutions.
The role is fully office-based and focuses on developing relationships remotely with both existing and prospective business customers. Candidates with previous account management, sales, or telecommunications experience will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.
Key responsibilities
* Proactively contacting business customers to build rapport and develop long-term professional relationships
* Managing and growing a portfolio of small to medium-sized business accounts
* Contacting the existing MSP customer base to update CRM records and generate new sales opportunities
* Cross-selling and upselling telecommunications products and services, including mobile, broadband, connectivity, and value-added solutions
* Identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and following up on incoming leads
* Conducting customer needs analysis and recommending tailored solutions
* Negotiating pricing and contract terms in line with company guidelines
* Achieving and exceeding individual sales and revenue targets
* Maintaining accurate customer records and sales activity within CRM systems
* Handling account queries and working closely with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently
* Keeping up to date with telecommunications products, market trends, and competitor activity
Experience and qualifications
Experience Needed
* Previous experience within sales, account management, or a customer-facing environment
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Confidence engaging with business customers over the phone
* A target-driven mindset with a strong focus on results
* Ability to identify sales opportunities and effectively cross-sell products
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities
* Experience using CRM systems and general IT proficiency
Desirable experience
* A background within telecommunications, technology, or B2B sales
* Understanding of mobile, broadband, or connectivity solutions
* Experience managing a portfolio of business accounts
