A specialist teaching role where support, relationships and sustainability genuinely matter
Are you a qualified KS2 teacher with experience or interest in SEND and SEMH?
Are you looking for a role where children are known, behaviour systems are shared, and leaders understand the realities of specialist teaching?

If so, we would very much like to hear from you.

Esland Shropshire School is a growing specialist provision supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with SEND and SEMH needs. We are seeking a committed and skilled SEN Teacher to work primarily with KS2 pupils as part of a highly supportive, multidisciplinary team.

At Esland, we are passionate about changing children’s lives for the better. Through our Turning the Curve model, we create nurturing, inclusive environments where pupils are helped to overcome barriers to learning and build a more positive future at a pace that works for them.
Essential:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
2. Experience teaching KS2 across a range of subjects
3. An understanding of SEND, particularly SEMH
4. Strong inclusive teaching and behaviour‑support strategies
5. A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
Desirable:
6. A qualification or degree in psychology
7. A higher qualification or equivalent
You will be someone who:
8. Is calm, reflective and relationship‑focused
9. Has high expectations, balanced with empathy and realism
10. Communicates well and works positively as part of a team
11. Is committed to learning, development and good practice
12. Is motivated by making a difference, not ticking boxes
Successful employment is subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, right‑to‑work and reference checks in line with Safer Recruitment practices.

Esland is committed to equality, inclusion and fairness for all young people and colleagues.

Interested, but unsure?

We actively encourage informal conversations and visits. If you would like to talk through the role, the setting, or your own experience before applying, we would be very happy to do so.

Apply today to join a school where staff are supported as strongly as the pupils they teach.

Financial security
13. Competitive salary (£41,137 – £44,786), reviewed annually
14. Esland education pension scheme — double matched up to 20% (total contribution up to 30%)
15. Company sick pay
16. Life insurance (4x basic salary)
Wellbeing & support
17. Comprehensive, paid induction and ongoing training
