Role Description
We have an opportunity for a thorough and committed individual who has
technical design skills to join our team in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
We are looking for an experienced Cad designer and Programmer with a range of skills:
* Good communication and Cad drawing skills.
* Good understanding of furniture production and materials.
* Competent user of Solidworks.
* Experience with CNC programming, ideally using SWOOD or Solidcam. Previous experience with similar CAM tools such as Mastercam, Alphacam etc will be transferable.
* Ability to manage information and work across simultaneous tasks.
* Team player, looking for opportunities to work with others and improve our business performance.
* Accurate and thorough, with a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
* Consideration of client needs within review of detailed drawings with sales staff.
* Produce 3d Models and clear accurate production drawings for the workshop.
* Generate cutting lists and bill of materials.
* Review models with workshop to generate continuous improvements.
* Generate CNC CAM programs using SWOOD and Solidcam up to 5 Axis level from the 3d models for both sheet nesting and individual part machining.
* Research and ensure any bought-in components work with the design.
* Ensure efficient use of materials and time.
* Provide purchase order requirements for bought-in goods within the projects.
* Closely work with other members of the team to ensure delivery and installation deadlines are met.
Job Type: Full time, Permanent, office based 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, with customer and site visits.
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + benefits, and opportunities for development.
