Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor Full time, 3 year fixed term contract This post is appointed at Senior Lecturer to reflect the experience of the role-holder; very appropriately experienced candidates may be offered an Associate Professorship Band 7 - £48,350 to £56,021 (up to £59,421 for Associate Professor) About the Post The School of Allied Health Sciences are looking for an experienced academic lead in Pharmacy to develop an MPharm programme ahead of its application for registration with the GPHC in Spring 2025. You will have responsibility for this development in the first instance, and then to undertake teaching and delivery of the programme. There will the opportunity to engage with the wider pharmacy community in Suffolk to ensure quality of the curriculum design and placement opportunities. As well as developing the MPharm curriculum to standards meeting the GPhC requirements, you will contribute to the recruitment and selection of students and future staff as the university develops in this area. will contribute to teaching in other appropriate areas of the school when necessary. Given that the first students will not enrol on the MPharm programme until September 2026, this is a unique developmental role and will allow you to build the area of pharmacy within the school and ultimately Suffolk itself. This will involve advising on infrastructure and facilities development alongside the curriculum growth. As a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor, you will be a a senior member of staff within the school and be expected to contribute to the general citizenship of the School and wider University. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills, and be a genuine team player with an outgoing personality and professional, inspirational demeanour. You will have significant experience of leading MPharm degrees in UK HEIs and will be able to translate that experience into delivery of the pharmacy project at the University of Suffolk.PhD or equivalent and current registration with the GPhC are essential as well as previous experience in a UK HEI. You will have PhD, GPhC registration and significant experience of managing MPharm programmes in the UK as these are essential attributes for the role. Similarly, you will be an inspirational leader, with excellent organisation skills, well developed communication, and have an attention to detail to bring to the role. You will be knowledgeable of the GPhC and the requirements for course accreditation and how the curriculum will be developed. You will enjoy working with students and teaching in an HEI.
